What is an Industrial Oxygen Generator?

A PSA industrial oxygen generator produces oxygen on-site from atmospheric air using zeolite molecular sieves. The sieves selectively adsorb nitrogen under pressure, allowing oxygen to pass through at 90-96% purity. The system runs continuously on electricity alone. Absstem’s Idos delivers PSA oxygen at 1 to 5,000 Nm³/hr for steel, aquaculture, wastewater, and ozone applications.

Unlike medical oxygen systems built around pharmacopoeia-regulated purity, Idos is engineered for industrial process requirements – combustion efficiency, oxidation reactions, dissolved oxygen targets, and continuous-duty operation. No PESO licence is required for the generator itself.

The term generator refers to the oxygen separation unit, while plant means the complete on-site system including compressors, storage, controls, installation, and commissioning.
